Karmic Angel

A man who was too free with his words once spoke unkindly to another, when the victim replied against him, the man asked “What have I ever done to you, for you to say that to me, you don’t know me”!

The stranger replied, “it’s not a matter of what you’ve done to me, it’s what you have done to others in the past, karma has a peculiar way don’t you think”?  The stranger smiled and wings appeared on his back as he walked away, the man too astonished to say anything else, thought about his words and realized that he speaks unkindly to others, and he doesn’t like it when the shoe is on the other foot and his angel taking pity on his bitter life, saved him that day.

twilight storm

stormyclouds

The twilight storm has approached, cooling the air

Earthy smells encroach my senses to despair

I wrap up warm under shelter

I feel the dampness of this eventide

I see the mass of clouds mounting up high

Grey bubbles bubbling up and up

A distant rainbow appears

As I notice the colors it goes

Then rain comes down in dewy blows like tender tears

How I love this eventide

How I love its climate

How I’d love to play with God’s template for it

Bleary eventide

You are beautiful to me

Perhaps one day you’ll come and let me go with thee?

Duotrope

If you’ve sent work through duotrope.com could you please let me know whether the site worked for you or not?  Thanks.

I’ve noticed there’s about five publishers that could potentially be interested in one of my stories as I meet their requirements according to duotrope.com and I am a little worried about whether or not they accept stories and poems that have been previously posted on my blog.  Is that usually problematic?

Little sea maiden

Rising up into the wistful rainy night, I don’t see the stars shining bright

Awoken from my bed of sea, I sit on a rock and sulk grumpily

There are no boats out this eventide

No one to call to doom

I’ll sit and wait for the sailors to come

So I can sing my tune

Little fishes swim with me

Under the beautiful briny sea

A pearl necklace around my neck

I wait for you or a shipwreck

How beautiful you see me now

Sitting on my rock

But if you’re wise you’ll know what I am

And your ears you will block

Oh come to me dear sailor

My friend and my foe

I know you have faraway places that you are meant to go

But I will bring you jewels a plenty

My beauty is unparalleled

Come closer to the water, and I will show you hell
