Voices of lost souls

Wind howls around my soul, entrapping me in a tomb of bewilderment!

The sharp hissing of the air all around me sings an eerie tune with the winds groans from the typhoon.

Holding the woolen scarf around me tightly as I try to fight against the windstorm; an ever loosing battle, the wind sweeps under my feet, I fall back slowly like time turning around.

I do not fall, but I am lifted up into the black skies of doom. Swirling up into the air, like a balloon!
Higher and higher it takes me. My screams become a part of the eerie screams I hear in the typhoon!

Wondering why the wind moans so? Are they the voices of other lost souls?

for our mother, father and heirs

First and foremost I’d like to say, don’t let this world of ours fade away

This earth is for our mother, father and heirs

They at least, deserve clean air

Respect our lands, respect our seas, for is there another world that we can reach?

If not, then we are doomed, unless you have time for changes, this I assume

We all need to make an effort; we can’t carry on like this

We need to find a better way, or else this world we’ll miss

Don’t treat the world amiss

WOBP writing prompt – color = BROWN

From the writing prompt suggestion given by Sara Comte, Writing on banana peels http://writingonbananapeels.wordpress.com/2013/05/13/writing-prompt-stories-of-color/

Here is my poem about the color brown.

BROWN

Brown leaves crushed under my foot

Warm weather slowly fading

This is how I know summer is cascading

The woodland trees are going bare after flicking from red to brown

There’s coolness in the air and crunchiness to the ground

Oh soon it will be winter, where nothing shines like bronze

Oh how I love dear autumn the next one feels aeons

What have we done?

This world is our home, a wonderful dome, filled with such diverse beauty oh what have we done?

Our home chokes to death on invisible black flames of carbon, oh what have we done?  What have we done?

Trees falling all around us, a great infestation of greed pulls them to the ground, oh what have we done?  What have we done?

What do we need so badly that we’re destroying the things we need the most?  Air, land, sea, sky, oh why, oh why, oh why?  What have we done?  Look what we’ve done!

The big brains say we’re progressing, but what is progression?  To die before we’ve lived?  We’ve no other place to go, so why are we cutting the world away like there’s an alternative?

There is no alternative

Oh what have we done?  What have we done?

We’re progressing towards mass extinction, mass end of life, mass death run rife.

What have we done?

We can stop…

Small changes mean a lot

Giving up comforts for survival maybe our only revival – look what we’ve done, stop this… everyone?

Ignorance isn’t bliss, it’s death…
