The wretched will demise

Witch from pixabay

The curse of a thousand years is upon you

The wretched will demise

Slowly your lineage falters

Because of your every lie

And witches cast their spells on you

They stir the magic in their pot

And I will rescue not one of you

Because you deserve the lot

Oh yes you wicked thing, wicked things shall come to you

For like attracts like within the witches stew

And slowly it shall burn your soul and terror it will thrive

Because you crossed an evil witch and now she’ll destroy your life

So slowly she will stir the pot, so the brew is ready

The spell shall come so slowly, so slowly and so steady

And you will realise what you’ve done, when it’s far too late

But now the spell it has been cast, the witch has sealed your fate

Going deaf to your misery

DISCLAIMER –

The below poem is not meant to be offensive – I am personally a sensory impaired member of society, I am very short sighted with astigmatism and I am totally deaf in my right ear with only 35% hearing in my left ear and I could potentially lose that, considering I have auto-immune inner ear disease.  I have only learned to develop a sense of humour with the cards I’ve been dealt with in life, please understand.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of deaf

I shall hear no evil, but see a lot I might

Though I hear not the barks that scold me, I see the awful sight

Evidence of those who hate me are seen everywhere

And they sit back and they think that I really, really care

But yea, the mind is full of ego

And they shall think of themselves

I shall sit in wonderment, why they don’t put the hate on their shelves?

I wonder why every day, why they think of me?

When I have left them long ago, yet they still want to torture me?

Then I realise that those poor dears, they do not have a life

So that is why they taunt me, with curses and poisoned words of strife

They of course have an ego too, that you can be sure

That they sit around every day gossiping of the times of yore

Becoming old and bitter, making their friends think that they are a bore

By choosing to focus on the dead past, the past that makes them sore

And I sit back still amazed, that they have chosen to concentrate

On things about me, each and every day, because poisoned words always finds a way

To go back to the victim

You see that’s the side effects of your conviction

Gossip not and leave the friction

You’ve crossed someone as old as sin

As the witches cast their spells under moonlight igniting Hell

As the bones of the ancients tremble awake

There are signs in you – of a grave mistake

You’ve crossed someone as old as sin

And now your suffering will start to spin

You won’t know when it will strike

But when it does, it does with a bite

And you will falter under this spell

As wicked things, drag you to Hell

Curse rebound

I am going out of my mind with a body that won’t obey
I am being twisted up in all sorts of evil ways
The magic you weave around me, it will rebound on you
When you mess with evil magic, ensure you know what it is you do
It takes a witch to know one
And I know each and every one of you
So be aware my pretties for my demons are coming for you
I won’t be allowed to suffer, not anymore you’ll see
All the magic you’ve cast on me will rebound on you times three
As witches say, so mote it be

The man in the picture by Susan Hill

The man in the picture by Susan Hill

As a lover of anything to do with carnivals, masquerades, festivals, harlequins and circus’s as well as plunging into the depths of horror stories and movies, I found this novel absolute pleasure. Never before had I ever read a whole novel in one sitting, taking just 90 minutes, I was heavily pregnant with my first born son and it was just after 1am when I started, I thought I would only read a few pages before falling asleep, but I couldn’t, I just could not put the book down, it was like I was under some kind of spell.
It is an addictive read, I want more books of this kind and I have found myself looking subconsciously for stories of a similar theme over the past five years, never finding anything as compelling or as long as this masterpiece and I must say that is disappointing.
I both love and hate books that compel me so.
At first glance it would seem familiar in a Dorian Grey kind of way, but it isn’t – it is like a ghost story, but that’s not quite right either, the plot is simple, but fantastic. I am surprised it isn’t more widely known; I am surprised that Susan Hill fans have never made much of a scene of this novel as they have with “I’m the king of the castle” or “The woman in black”, but then that is hardly surprising as I rarely see this book on shelves in libraries or stores.
I think it should someday become known as a classic horror story, though its elusiveness to the public may be a detriment for that to become so.

Obsessed witch

I mix my potions to make you love me

I have dreams that you’ll want me

I am hopeful that you’ll be mine

Forevermore to the ends of time

I can’t see another picture

My minds obsessed with your essence

Some say I have no conscience

But dutifully I build your shrine

Witches warning

I know you have a coven

And into a coffin they will fall

If you still try to mess with me

I’ll destroy you all

For it takes a witch to know one

And I know you all quite well

I ask you nicely right now

Get rid of your evil spells

For I am here awaiting

For you to turn around

And discontinue chanting

And leave me safe and sound

You should heed my warning

For I am ready for the fight

I will send all things back to you

Each and every night

So give up with your cursing

And surrender to my words

My spirits are much stronger

You stupid bastards

mortal shell

Will the effects be long lasting?

Will I end this spell?

Will I be immortal again?

I cannot really tell.

All I know is I’m weeping

Living in a mortal hell

I always sit and wonder

When is there an end to this mortal shell?

Legend of the gargoyle

There was once an ancient legend in our land, that deemed that no heart should be broken by man, for if he did a spell be cast, that this wretched human to stone be cast, to exist as a gargoyle upon the walls of Snell, our beloved fortress we love so well.

It is said in the dead of night a fair young maiden received this plight, a young stranger came to our land and made a promise to this maiden’s hand, a ring he bestowed upon her finger but the little louse he did not linger.

But before the gates had time to open the spell was cast and his image broken, with a contorted grin and piercing eyes, claw like nails he’ll be despised.  A memory of a loveless night, revenge is sweet and it served him right.
